“ The most reasonably priced dim sum in all of LA! They price by the piece and at 90 cents per piece, I was able to get plenty for myself with only $15! We ate inside but the to go line seemed pretty long and we waited no time for our food to come. Overall, a great dim sum spot with the added bonus that there is a parking lot! A rare find in Chinatown ”
“ Went to pick up food from this Excellent restaurant! Didn't eat there cause it's Christmas Eve and got food for tonight's celebration The food Great! You can't go wrong with them. The service is great too! The ambiance is very casual cozy familiar and friendly. I Love it! ”
“ I stopped by Won Kok for takeout, and while there was a line, it moved surprisingly fast. The dim sum pricing is on the lower end, but the quality didn't miss a beat. Our total for a good amount of items came out to less than $40. The lady who took my order was efficient and fast -- as a nice touch, she threw in a free rice cake! The sesame balls were fantastic, and I was pleasantly surprised by the chicken shumai. It's a great option for anyone with shellfish allergies or dietary restrictions--highly recommend! The rice cake was tasty, too, and I tried both the baked BBQ buns as well as their curry chicken and steamed buns. They were good, though not the best I've ever had. The building itself is unassuming, and you might not expect much at first glance. It seems to offer a more casual dining experience, and while it was a bit busy and loud when I stopped by, it adds to the charm. Parking was a bit tricky with limited spots, but it's manageable. I haven't dined in yet, but I'd love to come back and explore more of their menu. Overall, a solid spot for affordable, delicious dim sum! ”
“ I haven't been to this place in years and I just went yesterday. It hasn't changed a bit and the food is amazing ”
“ Very nice place and the ginger chicken is very good as well as the sausages fried rice ”
“ We were in town (from Vegas), and was craving dim sum. It's been a long time since we've been here. There was a line but we didn't have to wait too long maybe 10-15 mins and once you order, it comes out quick. When you see a line, most times it means it's the spot to go to. Luckily, there was a kind, helpful local guy behind us who answered our questions and those of other out-of-towners. Thank you. Ordered: Pork and shrimp dumplings - order hot chili oil for 25 cents - 3.5/5 rating - was good but had better, different than what I'm used to Steamed and Baked Pork Buns Jumbo Cream Bun - 3.5/5 rating - craving satisfied Red Bean Sesame Balls Egg Rolls (with noodles in it? didn't expect that) 3.5/rating - good, but prefer more veggies and no noodles Egg Custard Tarts - flaky - 3.5/5 rating -- good Rice Cake We did not order a sponge cake but found one in our take out plate. I only eat a few high carb/sweet/sugary foods in the last few years so I didn't try the other things but heard they were good. Ambiance, we didn't go inside, we stood in line outside for the take out window. It's a hole in the wall type vibe. Overall, it was good, price is good, a few cravings satisfied. Will be back when we are in town to try the other items. Mahalo (thank you) and Aloha! ”
“ Another place I've always driven past ever since I was a kid, but did not try recently until this past weekend at CicLAvia. Wife and I just wanted to grab a quick bite and Won Kok was literally across the street from our car, so why not? Plus, dim sum being served this late is a win no matter what. Unfortuately they did not have anything else besides har gow and siu mai, but that's fine. If I recall correctly, it was 90¢ a piece which was a steal. I ate a few pieces before heading home and normally I like to dip my stuff in a little bit of soy sauce and spicy mustard (wasabi is an appropriate substitute), but I just straight up raw dogged it and it was very good. Same thing with reheating it last night - still awesome. Glad to see they're still in business. I guess it helps to go viral too. Hope to see them stick around for many years to come. ”
“ Ambiance: it's located in the corner spot with a small private pairing lot, and this place is known for takeout dim sum and there's always waiting line Service: not the most welcoming waiters, basically you find your own seats and grab their attention to place the order, but fairly fast at least Food: numerous items on their menu for regular dishes, and you also place dine-in and takeout order to avoid waiting in line outside Fried Pork Chops with Spicy Salt - **** light battered, crispy and tasty, recommend Pork Dumpling (Shu Mai) - *** average taste Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow) - *** thick skin BBQ Pork Bun - **** recommend Coconut Bun - *** very sweet Fried Pork Ball (Ham Sui Gok) - *** chewy sticky dough outside Sesame Ball - **** red beans filling, crispy outside, recommend Chicken Sticky Rice - ** so so Baked Red Bean Pastry - ** so so Baked Winter Melon Pastry - *** average Curry Chicken Pastry - **** big and fulfilling, recommend Curry Beef Pastry - **** crispy and flavorful, recommend BBQ Pork Pastry - *** average taste Egg Custard - **** great quality, recommend Rice Cake - **** sweet and soft, recommend Price: affordable prices and decent prices, expect $20 per person for dishes or less if just for dim sum takeout ”
